Browser extension

Coming soon

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

Site limits in the browser you already use. When the time is up, the page is replaced by a block screen.

What it does

Limits you can keep.

Five controls. No feed of tips, and no streak to keep.

Daily limits and blocking

Set a cap for an app or a site. When the time is gone, Unscroll blocks it until the next day, or until a schedule says it may open.

Focus mode

Start a session with a short allow-list. Everything else stays closed until the session ends.

Sleep mode and schedules

Choose a nightly window. The apps and sites you name stay closed inside it. Weekdays and weekends can use different hours.

Detailed stats

Time by app, site, and day. Rings for today, bars for the week. The history stays on the device.

Reminders

A nudge before a limit, before sleep, or when a session runs long. Reminders are scheduled on the device. They are not messages from a server.

Privacy

Your usage stays on the device.

Local-first means the copy that matters is the one on this device. No account required.

No trackers

No analytics SDK, no crash-report vendor, and no third-party pixels. This page is static files, with no beacons.

No ads

No ad network and no sponsored slot in the stats. The screen is for your numbers.

No private data leaves the device

Usage, limits, and schedules are stored locally. Unscroll does not ask you to sign in.

Optional end-to-end encrypted sync

To keep the same limits on another device, sync encrypts the data on the device and sends it only to a server you run. Unscroll does not hold the keys and does not operate that server.

Editions

Read the code, or install a build.

The same privacy rules in both editions. Neither one is offered as a download on this page.

Questions

Before you look for a download.

Does Unscroll need an account?

No. Limits and history live on the device. You can use Unscroll without signing in anywhere.

What leaves the device?

Nothing, unless you turn sync on. Sync encrypts data on the device and sends it only to a server you run. Unscroll does not keep a copy.

Which platforms will it run on?

An Android app, a desktop app for Linux, Windows, and macOS, and a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

Can it block both apps and websites?

Yes. The phone and desktop apps block apps. The extension blocks sites. Focus and sleep can include both.

What does the AGPL cover?

The self-hosted edition is under the GNU AGPL. If you run a modified version as a service for other people, you share that version’s source under the same license. Pro is a separate edition.

Where is the download?

There is no download yet. Android, desktop, and the extension are marked Coming soon. This page does not ask for your email.
